Transformation and Awakening

Written in 2010, Transformation and Awakening is about the process I went through to re-enter into the composition world.  After a 5 year break from composing (due to many personal life changes, and reasons), this is the first piece that I wrote after my break.  It was a way to journal my entry back, and to realize that 1) I can still compose and 2) that it still meant a lot to me.  This was something that was hard to come to me, and after I realized how much I missed composing, I took joy out of knowing that I still could.  Transformation and Awakening, in simplest terms, is how I processed the experience of coming back into music composition.

This piece is scheduled to be performed in Athens, GA later this semester. I'm very excited about this upcoming performance, as it is the first piece that I have written that will have a live performance since I wrote Day Dreams, back in 2005.  

The Storm

The Storm, written in 2003, was written to evoke the feelings of a storm.  It is broken into 3 segments. The beginning of the storm, the eye of the storm, and the sun coming out after the storm.  Each section with a distinct feeling, it is clear that it is meant to be a light hearted piece that is fun and easy to play.
